SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
730 ILCS 5/3-2-4  from Ch. 38, par. 1003-2-4

    Amends the Unified Code of Corrections. Provides that the Governor shall visit the institutions, facilities, and programs of the Department of Corrections as often as the Governor deems fit, for the purpose of enquiring (rather than examining) into the affairs and conditions of the Department. Provides that a member of the General Assembly may visit the institutions, facilities, and programs of the Department of Corrections, upon request of the member, for the purpose of enquiring into the affairs and conditions of the Department.

1    AN ACT concerning criminal law.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Unified Code of Corrections is amended by
5changing Section 3-2-4 as follows:
 
6    (730 ILCS 5/3-2-4)  (from Ch. 38, par. 1003-2-4)
7    Sec. 3-2-4. Governor to visit; members of the General
8Assembly may visit Visit.
9    (a) The Governor shall visit the institutions, facilities,
10and programs of the Department as often as the Governor he
11deems fit, for the purpose of enquiring examining into the
12affairs and conditions of the Department.
13    (b) A member of the General Assembly may visit the
14institutions, facilities, and programs of the Department, upon
15the request of the member, for the purpose of enquiring into
16the affairs and conditions of the Department.
