1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 25
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend Senate Bill 25, on page 1, by
3 deleting lines 12 through 22; and
4 on page 1, line 23, by replacing "be determined by lot." with
5 the following:
6 "The Board shall consist of 9 members with 5 appointed by
7 the Governor, 2 appointed by the presiding officer of the
8 municipality, and 2 appointed by the commissioners of the
9 housing authority. The initial terms of the members shall be
10 one, 2, 3, 4, and 5 years for the members appointed by the
11 Governor, one and 2 years for the members appointed by the
12 presiding officer, and one and 2 years for the members
13 appointed by the commissioners of the housing authority. The
14 appointing authority shall determine which initial term each
15 appointee shall serve.";and
16 on page 2, line 4, by replacing "The Board" with the
17 following:
18 "Subject to collective bargaining agreements, the Board"; and
19 on page 2, by replacing lines 7 through 14 with the
20 following:
21 "(1) the officer is found by the Board to have
22 verbally or physically abused a tenant or his or her

1 guest or invitee while the officer was on or off duty;
2 (2) the officer is found by the Board to have
3 entered the residence of a housing authority tenant and
4 was neither (i) executing a legally issued arrest warrant
5 or search warrant for that residence nor (ii) otherwise
6 lawfully present in the residence; or
7 (3) the officer is found by the Board to have
8 verbally or physically abused a person on or off housing
9 authority property while performing his or her duty as a
10 housing authority police officer.".
