AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 5006

AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 5006 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the following:

"Section 5. The Animal Welfare Act is amended by adding Section 18.5 as follows:

(225 ILCS 605/18.5 new)

Sec. 18.5. Prohibition of the sale, trade, or exchange of cats or dogs at flea markets. No person, whether licensed under this Act or not, shall sell, trade, or exchange cats or dogs at flea markets.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.".
