AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 149

AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 149, AS AMENDED, in Section 7, in the introductory clause, after "Section 3.5", by inserting "and adding Section 54.7"; and

in Section 7, immediately below Sec. 3.5, by inserting the following:

"(225 ILCS 60/54.7 new)

Sec. 54.7. Physician delegation of authority; administration of intense pulsed light system. A physician may delegate the operation of an intense pulsed light system or a laser for the purpose of epilation, photorejuvenation, or other non-medical cosmetic procedures to a physician assistant, advanced practice nurse, registered nurse, electrologist, or other personnel, provided those persons operating the intense pulsed light system or laser have adequate and appropriate training in the use of the device, as recommended by the manufacturer and as defined by rule.".
