AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 149

2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 149, AS AMENDED,
3 with reference to page and line numbers of House Amendment No.
4 1, on page 2, line 17, by replacing "Section 20" with "Sections
5 20 and 33"; and
 
6 on page 3, line 14, by replacing "1-1-03.)" with the following
7 "1-1-03.)

9     (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2014)
10     Sec. 33. Grandfather provision.
11     (a) For a period of 12 months after the filing of the
12 original administrative rules adopted under this Act, the
13 Department may issue a license to any individual who, in
14 addition to meeting the requirements set forth in paragraphs
15 (1), (2), (3), and (4) of Section 30, can document employment
16 as an electrologist and has received remuneration for

1 practicing electrology for a period of 3 years and can show
2 proof of one of the following: (i) current board certification
3 by a national electrology certifying body approved by the
4 Department; or (ii) completion of 30 continuing education units
5 in electrology approved by the Department.
6     (b) The Department may issue a license to an individual who
7 failed to apply for licensure under subsection (a) of this
8 Section on or before February 22, 2006 (one year after the
9 effective date of the rules adopted under this Act), but who
10 otherwise meets the qualifications set forth in subsection (a)
11 of this Section, provided that the individual submits a
12 completed application for licensure as required within 90 days
13 after the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 95th
14 General Assembly.
