SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Johnny Lowell Lasley of Moline, who passed away on February 8, 2024; and

WHEREAS, Johnny Lasley was born to William Henry and Louisa (Wickham) Lasley in Ullin on July 15, 1929; he served in the U.S. Navy Reserve for 20 years; he married Joann Sacco in Moline on November 28, 1953; and

WHEREAS, Johnny Lasley worked as an accountant at Tri-City Blue Print Company for over 30 years, retiring in 1981; and

WHEREAS, Johnny Lasley was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Moline for 70 years; and

WHEREAS, Johnny Lasley loved being with his family; he enjoyed doing yard work, playing dominoes, and eating Whitey's Ice Cream; and

WHEREAS, Johnny Lasley is survived by his wife of 70 years, Joann; his children, John (Karen) Lasley, Duane (Catherine) Lasley, and Angela (Steven) Bean; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Johnny Lowell Lasley and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Johnny Lasley as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
