SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of William B. Davenport of Havana, who passed away on December 9, 2023; and

WHEREAS, William Davenport was born in Palmyra to Dean and Virginia (Bugenhagen) Davenport on September 26, 1934; he served in the U.S. Army; he married June Weaver in Havana on June 14, 1953; and

WHEREAS, William Davenport ran the Illi-Go Gas Station for many years; he also owned cigarette vending machines, worked in trailer sales, and owned Midwest Palette; and

WHEREAS, William Davenport was a member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Havana and the Masonic Lodge; and

WHEREAS, William Davenport was preceded in death by his wife, June; his parents; his sons, Thomas and Timothy Davenport; and his brother, Robert Davenport; and

WHEREAS, William Davenport is survived by his son, Anthony "Tony" Davenport; his daughter-in-law, Brenda (Steve) Davenport-Fornoff; his grandchildren, Kyle (Katie) Davenport, Travis (Rachel) Davenport, Ty Fornoff, and Will Davenport; his great-grandchildren, Myles, Klay, Kyler, and Oliver; his brother, Richard Davenport; his special niece, Lisa Dietsch; and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of William B. Davenport and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of William Davenport as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
