SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of William B. Davenport of Havana, who
4passed away on December 9, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, William Davenport was born in Palmyra to Dean and
6Virginia (Bugenhagen) Davenport on September 26, 1934; he
7served in the U.S. Army; he married June Weaver in Havana on
8June 14, 1953; and
 
9    WHEREAS, William Davenport ran the Illi-Go Gas Station for
10many years; he also owned cigarette vending machines, worked
11in trailer sales, and owned Midwest Palette; and
 
12    WHEREAS, William Davenport was a member of St. Barnabas
13Episcopal Church in Havana and the Masonic Lodge; and
 
14    WHEREAS, William Davenport was preceded in death by his
15wife, June; his parents; his sons, Thomas and Timothy
16Davenport; and his brother, Robert Davenport; and
 
17    WHEREAS, William Davenport is survived by his son, Anthony
18"Tony" Davenport; his daughter-in-law, Brenda (Steve)
19Davenport-Fornoff; his grandchildren, Kyle (Katie) Davenport,
20Travis (Rachel) Davenport, Ty Fornoff, and Will Davenport; his

1great-grandchildren, Myles, Klay, Kyler, and Oliver; his
2brother, Richard Davenport; his special niece, Lisa Dietsch;
3and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6William B. Davenport and extend our sincere condolences to his
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of William Davenport as an expression
11of our deepest sympathy.
