SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Chester Lis at the age of 79; and

WHEREAS, Chester Lis graduated from Holy Trinity High School; he received a degree in mechanical engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology and his Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University; and

WHEREAS, Chester Lis had a successful career in engineering and consulting; and

WHEREAS, Chester Lis was involved with Holy Trinity High School; he served on the board and was president of the alumni association; and

WHEREAS, Coaching his grandsons, Chester Lis was known as "Coach Chet" and volunteered for 12 years as a youth football coach; he was an active member of his community and served on the board of his neighborhood's homeowners association; and

WHEREAS, Chester Lis was the beloved husband of 55 years of Arlene; the loving father of Karen (Jeff) Gutowsky, Kathy (Mark) Peterson, and Juliane (Scott) Kirkner; the cherished grandpa of Matthew (Kellie), Kevin, Tyler (Erica), Ryan (Jenna), Brett, Alissa, Jack, Brendan, Hailey, and Andrew; the dear brother of the late Walter Sr. (late Dorothy) Lis, the late Evelyn (late Henry) Schorsch, Lorraine (late Anthony) Lagona, Alice (late Stanley) Stafiej, Jennie (late Howard) Johnson, and Jeanette (Roger) Olson; and the fond uncle of many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Chester Lis and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Chester Lis as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
