SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Chester Lis at the age of 79; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Chester Lis graduated from Holy Trinity High
5School; he received a degree in mechanical engineering from the
6Illinois Institute of Technology and his Master of Business
7Administration from Northwestern University; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Chester Lis had a successful career in engineering
9and consulting; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Chester Lis was involved with Holy Trinity High
11School; he served on the board and was president of the alumni
12association; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Coaching his grandsons, Chester Lis was known as
14"Coach Chet" and volunteered for 12 years as a youth football
15coach; he was an active member of his community and served on
16the board of his neighborhood's homeowners association; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Chester Lis was the beloved husband of 55 years of
18Arlene; the loving father of Karen (Jeff) Gutowsky, Kathy
19(Mark) Peterson, and Juliane (Scott) Kirkner; the cherished
20grandpa of Matthew (Kellie), Kevin, Tyler (Erica), Ryan

1(Jenna), Brett, Alissa, Jack, Brendan, Hailey, and Andrew; the
2dear brother of the late Walter Sr. (late Dorothy) Lis, the
3late Evelyn (late Henry) Schorsch, Lorraine (late Anthony)
4Lagona, Alice (late Stanley) Stafiej, Jennie (late Howard)
5Johnson, and Jeanette (Roger) Olson; and the fond uncle of many
6nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Chester Lis and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
10friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Chester Lis as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
