SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Naomi Grace Tarvin of Bloomington, who passed away on June 9, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Naomi Tarvin was born in Shirley to John G. and Bertha F. Maupin Muffley on April 8, 1925; she married Richard H. Tarvin in Shirley on August 18, 1945; and

WHEREAS, Naomi Tarvin worked for Illinois Soldiers' and Sailors' Children's School until it closed; she later worked for the Department of Public Aid for many years; she retired from the State of Illinois; and

WHEREAS, Naomi Tarvin was a longtime member of the Shirley Christian Church, where she enjoyed singing and helping with vacation bible school; in her free time, she loved ceramics, oil painting, and crocheting; for many years, she and her husband wintered in Florida; and

WHEREAS, Naomi Tarvin was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; her sisters, Lorraine Muffley and Madelyn Hammers; and her brothers, Oscar, Lester, and John Muffley; and

WHEREAS, Naomi Tarvin is survived by her son, John (Sharon) Tarvin; her grandchildren, Heather (Travis) Young and Kourtney (Cody) Erbes; her great-grandchildren, Reagan and Davis Young and Malin Grace Erbes; and her sister, Margaret "Penny" Egan; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Naomi Grace Tarvin and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Naomi Tarvin as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
