SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Naomi Grace Tarvin of Bloomington, who
4passed away on June 9, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Naomi Tarvin was born in Shirley to John G. and
6Bertha F. Maupin Muffley on April 8, 1925; she married Richard
7H. Tarvin in Shirley on August 18, 1945; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Naomi Tarvin worked for Illinois Soldiers' and
9Sailors' Children's School until it closed; she later worked
10for the Department of Public Aid for many years; she retired
11from the State of Illinois; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Naomi Tarvin was a longtime member of the Shirley
13Christian Church, where she enjoyed singing and helping with
14vacation bible school; in her free time, she loved ceramics,
15oil painting, and crocheting; for many years, she and her
16husband wintered in Florida; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Naomi Tarvin was preceded in death by her husband,
18Richard; her sisters, Lorraine Muffley and Madelyn Hammers; and
19her brothers, Oscar, Lester, and John Muffley; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Naomi Tarvin is survived by her son, John (Sharon)

1Tarvin; her grandchildren, Heather (Travis) Young and Kourtney
2(Cody) Erbes; her great-grandchildren, Reagan and Davis Young
3and Malin Grace Erbes; and her sister, Margaret "Penny" Egan;
4therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Naomi Grace Tarvin and extend our sincere condolences to her
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Naomi Tarvin as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
