SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Michael Ehrmann of Rock Island, who passed away on May 4, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Michael Ehrmann was born in Rock Island to Herbert and Jean Huntington Ehrmann on May 2, 1957; he graduated from Rock Island High School in 1975; he served in the United States Marine Corps; he later received his associate's degree from Black Hawk College; he married Dorothy "Dotti" Cunningham in Rock Island on October 2, 1993; and

WHEREAS, Michael Ehrmann worked in the social work field for many years; and

WHEREAS, Michael Ehrmann was a former member of the Genesius Guild; he was an avid gardener and volunteered with the community garden program; he enjoyed being outdoors, hiking, fishing, barbecuing, and camping; he was a fan of the Blackhawks, Cubs, and Packers; he loved science fiction and what he called "good books and bad television"; and

WHEREAS, Michael Ehrmann was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; his brother, Richard Ehrmann; and his mother-in-law, Elsie Cunningham; and

WHEREAS, Michael Ehrmann is survived by his wife, Dotti; his sons, Joshua Ehrmann and Christopher (Louly) Ehrmann; his grandchildren, Aden, Lily, Louis, Calvin, and Anja Ehrmann; his parents; his sister, Linda (John) Soto; his nieces and nephew, Amber, Nikki, Katelyn, and Bryan; his uncles, Bob Ehrmann and Ron Ehrmann; and his father-in-law, Jeffree Cunningham; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Michael Ehrmann and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Michael Ehrmann as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
