SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of William D. "Bill" Dugger of Buffalo, who passed away on March 30, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Bill Dugger was born to Donald and Ola Faye (Dunn) Dugger on May 8, 1938; he married Betty Gathman in Springfield on August 31, 1974; and

WHEREAS, Bill Dugger served in the Illinois Army National Guard for 40 years and retired as an allied trades foreman; he was also a farmer; and

WHEREAS, Bill Dugger was a member of Grace Community Fellowship Church, the Mechanicsburg Masonic Lodge 500, and the Palmyra Eastern Star; he enjoyed woodworking and collecting pocket watches; and

WHEREAS, Bill Dugger was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Roger and Jerry; and his sister, Patricia Beckum; and

WHEREAS, Bill Dugger is survived by his wife, Betty; his daughters, Catherine (Bill) Bryant and Cynthia (Dave) Brunner; his grandchildren, Krista (Sean) Monroe, Lindsey Miller, Evan (Abby) Brunner, and Jason (Megan) Brunner; his great-grandchildren, Logan Monroe and Adalynn Brunner; his siblings, Donald (Kathy) Dugger, Mike Dugger, and Cheri Dugger; and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of William D. "Bill" Dugger and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Bill Dugger as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
