SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Barry A. Duncan of Colona, who passed away on August 7, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Barry Duncan was born in Davenport, Iowa to George and Ruth Duncan on October 7, 1962; he married Lisa Burlingame in Bettendorf, Iowa on December 4, 1982, and they had three children; he served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Army National Guard; and

WHEREAS, Barry Duncan worked at Harvest Day Bakery in Rock Island; he also worked at Ruan Trucking; most recently, he worked at John Deere Harvester Works in Davenport, Iowa; and

WHEREAS, Barry Duncan was a self-taught martial artist, specializing in nunchucks; he enjoyed playing disc golf and watching YouTube music videos; he loved his family, especially his beloved grandchildren, above everything else; and

WHEREAS, Barry Duncan was preceded in death by his father, George Duncan; his son, Shane Michael Duncan; and his father-in-law, T. James Burlingame; and

WHEREAS, Barry Duncan is survived by Lisa Duncan; his children, Chad Duncan and Amanda (Bobby) Barker; his grandchildren, Melony, Blake, and Connor Barker; his siblings, Brenda (Mike) Mills and Bryan Duncan; his stepmother, Mary Duncan; and his mother-in-law, Joy Burlingame; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Barry A. Duncan and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Barry Duncan as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
