SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

5 ILCS 490/149 new

Amends the State Commemorative Dates Act. Designates the month of April as Crime Survivors Awareness Month to be observed throughout the State as a month to promote awareness of the impact of crime on victims, and to encourage healing, awareness, prevention, and endurance for crime survivors in the State of Illinois.

AN ACT concerning government.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The State Commemorative Dates Act is amended by adding Section 149 as follows:

(5 ILCS 490/149 new)

Sec. 149. Crime Survivors Awareness Month. The month of April of each year is designated as Crime Survivors Awareness Month to be observed throughout the State as a month to promote awareness of the impact of crime on victims, and to encourage healing, awareness, prevention, and endurance for crime survivors in the State of Illinois.
