SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
5 ILCS 490/149 new

    Amends the State Commemorative Dates Act. Designates the month of April as Crime Survivors Awareness Month to be observed throughout the State as a month to promote awareness of the impact of crime on victims, and to encourage healing, awareness, prevention, and endurance for crime survivors in the State of Illinois.

1    AN ACT concerning government.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The State Commemorative Dates Act is amended by
5adding Section 149 as follows:
 
6    (5 ILCS 490/149 new)
7    Sec. 149. Crime Survivors Awareness Month. The month of
8April of each year is designated as Crime Survivors Awareness
9Month to be observed throughout the State as a month to promote
10awareness of the impact of crime on victims, and to encourage
11healing, awareness, prevention, and endurance for crime
12survivors in the State of Illinois.
