SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Edgar E. Palmer, formerly of Dorsey, who passed away on February 5, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Edgar Palmer was born in Dow to Edgar and Gladys (Lewis) Palmer on April 25, 1930; he served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War from November 1951 to September 1953; he married Hallene Cathorall in Fosterburg on March 10, 1961; and

WHEREAS, Edgar Palmer was employed at the Western Cartridge Company, the Alton Box Board, and Alton Bottled Gas; he retired from Laclede Steel, where he was a truck driver; and

WHEREAS, Edgar Palmer enjoyed restoring and owning older cars, attending car shows, playing golf, and spending time with his family and friends; he attended the Bethalto Presbyterian Church; and

WHEREAS, Edgar Palmer was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Eleanor Barnal, Cora May Walker, Lora May Desherlia, and Betty Jean Callahan; and

WHEREAS, Edgar Palmer is survived by his wife, Hallene; his sons, David (Marla) and Steven (Kim) Palmer; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Edgar E. Palmer and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Edgar Palmer as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
