SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Edgar E. Palmer, formerly of Dorsey, who
4passed away on February 5, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Edgar Palmer was born in Dow to Edgar and Gladys
6(Lewis) Palmer on April 25, 1930; he served in the U.S. Air
7Force during the Korean War from November 1951 to September
81953; he married Hallene Cathorall in Fosterburg on March 10,
91961; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Edgar Palmer was employed at the Western Cartridge
11Company, the Alton Box Board, and Alton Bottled Gas; he retired
12from Laclede Steel, where he was a truck driver; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Edgar Palmer enjoyed restoring and owning older
14cars, attending car shows, playing golf, and spending time with
15his family and friends; he attended the Bethalto Presbyterian
16Church; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Edgar Palmer was preceded in death by his parents
18and his sisters, Eleanor Barnal, Cora May Walker, Lora May
19Desherlia, and Betty Jean Callahan; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Edgar Palmer is survived by his wife, Hallene; his

1sons, David (Marla) and Steven (Kim) Palmer; and numerous
2nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5Edgar E. Palmer and extend our sincere condolences to his
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Edgar Palmer as an expression of our
10deepest sympathy.
