 1        AN ACT concerning the regulation of professions.

 2        Be it enacted by the People of  the  State  of  Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section 5.  The Private Detective, Private Alarm, Private
 5    Security,  and  Locksmith  Act of 1993 is amended by changing
 6    Section 10 as follows:

 7        (225 ILCS 446/10)
 8        (Section scheduled to be repealed on December 31, 2003)
 9        Sec. 10.  Legislative intent.  The intent of the  General
10    Assembly  in enacting this statute is to regulate persons and
11    businesses licensed under this Act for the protection of  the
12    public.   These  practices are found declared to be practices
13    affecting the public health, safety, and welfare and  subject
14    to  State  regulation.   This  Act shall be construed to best
15    carry out these purposes.
