 1                     AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 293

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend House Bill 293 as follows:

 3    on page 1, below line 3, by inserting the following:

 4        "Section 3. The State Finance Act is  amended  by  adding
 5    Section 5.545 as follows:

 6        (30 ILCS 105/5.545 new)
 7        Sec. 5.545. The Lions of Illinois Fund."; and

 8    on page 1, lines 7, 11, and 13 and 14, by replacing "Illinois
 9    Lions  Club"  each  time it appears with "Lions of Illinois";
10    and

11    on page 1, line 25, by replacing "Member Illinois Lions Club"
12    with "Lions of Illinois"; and

13    on page 2, by replacing lines 3 through 9 with the following:
14        "(c)  An applicant for the special plate shall be charged
15    a  $40  fee  for  original  issuance  in  addition   to   the
16    appropriate  registration  fee.   Of  this  fee, $25 shall be
17    deposited into the Lions of Illinois Fund and  $15  shall  be
18    deposited  into  the Secretary of State Special License Plate
19    Fund, to  be  used  by  the  Secretary  to  help  defray  the
20    administrative processing costs.

 1        For  each  registration  renewal  period,  a  $27 fee, in
 2    addition  to  the  appropriate  registration  fee,  shall  be
 3    charged.  Of this fee, $25 shall be deposited into the  Lions
 4    of Illinois Fund and $2 shall be deposited into the Secretary
 5    of State Special License Plate Fund.
 6        (d)  The  Lions  of Illinois Fund is created as a special
 7    fund in the State treasury.   All  moneys  in  the  Lions  of
 8    Illinois  Fund shall be paid, subject to appropriation by the
 9    General Assembly and approval by the Secretary, as grants  to
10    the Lions of Illinois Endowment Fund.".
