GARCIA-DEL VALLE. New Act Creates the Community Workforce Employment Council Act to facilitate public input into One Stop Career Centers established by the Department of Commerce and Community Affairs (DCCA), the Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES), and the United States Department of Labor by creating an 11 member council for each Center appointed by the governor, with 5 members representing private business and organized labor, 5 members representing community based organizations, and 1 member representing community colleges in the area, with terms to last 3 years. Each Council shall participate in decisions regarding community outreach and linkage of the Center with regional educational facilities, receive reports of activities of the Center, and make reports to DCCA and IDES on the employment and training needs of the region. DCCA and IDES shall annually report to the Governor and General Assembly on the activities of each Council.
