Provides that no person may disclose a foster parent's name, address, or telephone number except as authorized by the Department by rule. Provides that it is a Class A misdemeanor to make an unauthorized disclosure of this information or to permit, assist, or encourage the unauthorized disclosure of this information. LRB9006965SMdvB LRB9006965SMdvB 1 AN ACT to amend the Children and Family Services Act by 2 changing Section 35.3. 3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 4 represented in the General Assembly: 5 Section 5. The Children and Family Services Act is 6 amended by changing Section 35.3 as follows: 7 (20 ILCS 505/35.3) 8 Sec. 35.3. Confidentiality of foster parent identifying 9 information. Because foster parents accept placements into 10 their residences, it is the policy of the State of Illinois 11 to protect foster parents' names, addresses, and telephone 12 numbers from disclosure. No person may disclose a foster 13 parent's name, address, or telephone number except as 14 authorized by the Department by rule. The Department shall 15 adopt rules to effectuate this policy and provide sufficient 16 prior notice of any authorized disclosure for foster parents 17 to seek an order of protection under Section 2-25 of the 18 Juvenile Court Act of 1987. It is a Class A misdemeanor to 19 make an unauthorized disclosure of a foster parent's name, 20 address, or telephone number or to permit, assist, or 21 encourage the unauthorized disclosure of this information. 22 (Source: P.A. 90-15, eff. 6-13-97.) 23 Section 99.
