| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Lyndal L. Hawkins of Bethalto, who passed | 4 | | away on February 22, 2016; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Lyndal Hawkins was born in Athensville to Lyle and | 6 | | Goldie (Worrall) Hawkins on July 20, 1927; he served his | 7 | | country in the United States Navy with the Seabees; he married | 8 | | Mildred Benton at First Baptist Church in Cottage Hills on | 9 | | October 22, 1949; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Lyndal Hawkins was a foreman for the Wood River | 11 | | Township Highway Department for 25 years, retiring in 1992; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Lyndal Hawkins was a member of First Baptist | 13 | | Church in Cottage Hills; he enjoyed camping, traveling, and | 14 | | visiting with people; he loved sports and was an avid St. Louis | 15 | | Cardinals fan; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Lyndal Hawkins was preceded in death by his | 17 | | parents; his daughter, Vickie Hawkins-Lepchenske; and his | 18 | | three brothers, Robert, Jim, and Dale; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Lyndal Hawkins is survived by his wife of 66 | 20 | | years, Mildred; his three children and their spouses, Stan and |
