SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Lyndal L. Hawkins of Bethalto, who passed
4away on February 22, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Lyndal Hawkins was born in Athensville to Lyle and
6Goldie (Worrall) Hawkins on July 20, 1927; he served his
7country in the United States Navy with the Seabees; he married
8Mildred Benton at First Baptist Church in Cottage Hills on
9October 22, 1949; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Lyndal Hawkins was a foreman for the Wood River
11Township Highway Department for 25 years, retiring in 1992; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Lyndal Hawkins was a member of First Baptist
13Church in Cottage Hills; he enjoyed camping, traveling, and
14visiting with people; he loved sports and was an avid St. Louis
15Cardinals fan; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Lyndal Hawkins was preceded in death by his
17parents; his daughter, Vickie Hawkins-Lepchenske; and his
18three brothers, Robert, Jim, and Dale; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Lyndal Hawkins is survived by his wife of 66
20years, Mildred; his three children and their spouses, Stan and

1Sue Hawkins, Larry and Jerilyn Hawkins, and Lynda and John
2McCarthy; his son-in-law, Jerry Lepchenske; his grandchildren,
3Jantzen Hawkins, Jaelyn Hawkins, Jenna Hawkins Busch, Cody
4Hawkins, Tyler Hawkins, Nathan Hawkins, Rachel Hawkins, Leah
5McCarthy, Sara McCarthy, and Lauren Lepchenske; his four
6great-grandchildren, Nathan, Nora, Kaden, and Jackson; his
7siblings and their spouses, Darrell (Dorothy) Hawkins and Judy
8(Ron) Wilkinson; and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be
9it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Lyndal L. Hawkins, and extend our sincere condolences to his
13family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Lyndal Hawkins as an expression of
17our deepest sympathy.
