| 1 | | HOUSE RESOLUTION | 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Robert | 4 | | A. "Bobby" Joyce Sr. of Frankfort, formerly of Steger, who | 5 | | passed away on February 17, 2023; and | 6 | | WHEREAS, Bobby Joyce was born on August 27, 1947; he | 7 | | graduated from Bloom Township High School and attended | 8 | | Southern Illinois University Carbondale; and | 9 | | WHEREAS, Bobby Joyce had an exemplary record of | 10 | | leadership, integrity, and service; he was a union official | 11 | | for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers | 12 | | (IBEW), holding titles of vice president, president, and | 13 | | secretary/treasurer of System Council U-25; and | 14 | | WHEREAS, Bobby Joyce was co-owner of Weichet Realtors - | 15 | | The Home Team in Tinley Park; he retired from Commonwealth | 16 | | Edison (ComEd) after 34 years in 2007; and | 17 | | WHEREAS, Bobby Joyce formerly served as chairman of | 18 | | Crusade of Mercy, known today as the United Way, through which | 19 | | he led several marches; he was also a successful youth and high | 20 | | school baseball and basketball coach for over 55 years; and |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Bobby Joyce was a lifelong, avid Chicago Cubs | 2 | | fan; he loved his family, friends, athletes, and community; he | 3 | | was a man who never gave up, and he will be remembered for | 4 | | leading an extraordinary life without regret; and | 5 | | WHEREAS, At the time of his passing, Bobby Joyce was | 6 | | survived by his wife of 43 years, Teresa; his children, Robert | 7 | | (Valerie) Joyce Jr., Amy (Steve) Herr, and Megan (Tony) | 8 | | Kuraja; eight grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and | 9 | | cousins; therefore, be it | 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | 11 | | HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | 12 | | we mourn the passing of Robert A. "Bobby" Joyce Sr. and extend | 13 | | our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who | 14 | | knew and loved him; and be it further | 15 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 16 | | presented to the family of Bobby Joyce as an expression of our | 17 | | deepest sympathy. |
