AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1173

AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1173 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the following:

"Section 5. The Illinois Police Training Act is amended by adding Section 6.8 as follows:

(50 ILCS 705/6.8 new)

Sec. 6.8. Department of Correction correctional officer certification. The Board shall adopt rules to certify Department of Correction correctional officers as full-time law enforcement officers or part-time law enforcement officers. A correctional officer certified under the rules may not be required to attend basic training school before being certified.".
