SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
225 ILCS 57/67

    Amends the Massage Licensing Act. Provides that for the initial renewal of the massage license which requires continuing education, as prescribed by rule, one hour of the continuing education shall include domestic violence and sexual assault awareness education as prescribed by rule of the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. Provides for every subsequent renewal of a license, one hour of the continuing education may include domestic violence and sexual assault awareness education as prescribed by rule of the Department. Provides that the one-hour domestic violence and sexual assault awareness continuing education course shall be provided by a continuing education provider approved by the Department. Provides that the Department may prescribe rules regarding the requirements for domestic violence and sexual assault awareness continuing education courses and teachers.

1    AN ACT concerning regulation.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Massage Licensing Act is amended by
5changing Section 67 as follows:
 
6    (225 ILCS 57/67)
7    (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2027)
8    Sec. 67. Continuing education. The Department shall adopt
9rules for continuing education for persons licensed under this
10Act that require a completion of 24 hours of approved
11continuing education per license renewal period. The
12Department shall establish by rule a means for the
13verification of completion of the continuing education
14required by this Section. This verification may be
15accomplished through audits of records maintained by the
16licensee, by requiring the filing of continuing education
17certificates with the Department, or by other means
18established by the Department. For the initial renewal of the
19license which requires continuing education, as prescribed by
20rule, one hour of the continuing education shall include
21domestic violence and sexual assault awareness education as
22prescribed by rule of the Department. For every subsequent
23renewal of a license, one hour of the continuing education may
