| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Lynne M. Lichtenauer of Joliet, who | 4 | | passed away on February 23, 2021; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Lynne Lichtenauer was born in 1939; she was the | 6 | | daughter of Les and Vivian (Barnes) Gomora; she graduated from | 7 | | St. Francis Academy in 1957; she was a pioneer for the City of | 8 | | Joliet and made numerous contributions to the community; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Lynne Lichtenauer retired as JTHS Director of | 10 | | Alumni Relations and Development for District 204 in 2016; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Lynne Lichtenauer spent 11 ˝ years with the | 12 | | Rialto Square Theatre, 4˝ years as its executive director; she | 13 | | was a founding member and later served as director of the | 14 | | Rialto Square Theatre Foundation Board; she also served as a | 15 | | member of the Mardi Gras Event Planning Committee, a | 16 | | consultant for the Festival of Trees event, co-producer of the | 17 | | Rialto Idol productions, and co-producer and director of A | 18 | | Very Rialto Christmas in 2018; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, In her early career, Lynne Lichtenauer worked | 20 | | professionally as a fashion model in both the Chicago and New | 21 | | York City markets; she worked eight years in public relations |

| 1 | | and in various administrative positions with the American | 2 | | Broadcasting Company in New York City from 1962 to 1970; she | 3 | | also worked for Bob Stewart Productions in New York City in | 4 | | game show development and the production of game shows for the | 5 | | three major networks from 1965 to 1970; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Since 2002, Lynne Lichtenauer was a co-host of | 7 | | weekly WJOL 1340 AM Friday morning talk show Lynne, Mary & | 8 | | Natalie; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Lynne Lichtenauer was a popular master of | 10 | | ceremonies for events of all kinds; she served as mistress of | 11 | | ceremonies for the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Annual | 12 | | Memorial Day Tribute to Veterans in 2005, where she had the | 13 | | great privilege of introducing then-U.S. Senator Barack Obama | 14 | | as the keynote speaker; she was the first woman invited to act | 15 | | as the host of the ceremony in the event's nine-year history; | 16 | | and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Lynne Lichtenauer's volunteerism was boundless; | 18 | | she served as the director of the Silver Cross Foundation | 19 | | Board for 28 years and as director of the Joliet Park District | 20 | | Foundation for 17 years; she was the current president of the | 21 | | Joliet Area Historical Museum and Old Joliet Prison and had | 22 | | served as a board member for 11 years; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Lynne Lichtenauer was the director of the | 2 | | Cultural Arts Council of the Joliet area for 30 years, a board | 3 | | member for the Old Joliet Prison Coalition founded in 2018, a | 4 | | board member for the Greater Joliet Area YMCA, a board member | 5 | | of the Joliet Area Sports Hall of Fame for 17 years, a founding | 6 | | member and past director of the Dow Chemical Community | 7 | | Advisory Board, and a member and past board member of the | 8 | | Rotary Club of Lockport; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Lynne Lichtenauer supported a number of other | 10 | | organizations throughout the years, bringing her considerable | 11 | | talents to the Friends of Community Public Art Advisory Board, | 12 | | the Heritage Corridor Convention & Visitors Bureau, the | 13 | | Illinois Junior Miss Pageant, Joliet Junior College, the | 14 | | Joliet Township High School Foundation, Lewis University, the | 15 | | Lincolnway High School Performing Arts Center, Big | 16 | | Brothers/Big Sisters, the City Center Partnership Board of | 17 | | Directors, Silver Cross Hospital, and many more too numerous | 18 | | to list; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Lynne Lichtenauer was preceded in death by her | 20 | | parents, Les and Vivian (Barnes) Gomora; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Lynne Lichtenauer is survived by her fiancé, | 22 | | Lorin Lynch; her son, Eric; her granddaughter, Lillian; her | 23 | | brother, Les Gomora (Mary Lou); and her numerous nieces and |

| 1 | | nephews; therefore, be it
| 2 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | 3 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 4 | | Lynne M. Lichtenauer and extend our sincere condolences to her | 5 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 6 | | further
| 7 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 8 | | presented to the family of Lynne Lichtenauer as an expression | 9 | | of our deepest sympathy.
