1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1651
2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1651 by replacing
3 everything after the enacting clause with the following:

4     "Section 5. The Nurse Practice Act is amended by adding
5 Section 60-45 as follows:

6     (225 ILCS 65/60-45 new)
7     Sec. 60-45. State agency registered nurse hiring;
8 accreditation. Notwithstanding any provision of law to the
9 contrary, when hiring a registered nurse, no State agency
10 shall take into consideration the accreditation status of the
11 nursing school or program of the applicant if he or she
12 graduated from a nursing program at a State-funded public
13 college or university in Illinois and is licensed as a
14 registered nurse by the Department under this Act.".
