1    AN ACT concerning education.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The University of Illinois Act is amended by
5adding Section 120 as follows:
 
6    (110 ILCS 305/120 new)
7    Sec. 120. Academic major report. The Board of Trustees
8shall provide to each enrolled student, at the time the
9student declares or changes his or her academic major or
10program of study, a report that contains relevant,
11independent, and accurate data related to the student's major
12or program of study and to the current occupational outlook
13associated with that major or program of study. The report
14shall provide the student with all of the following
15information:
16        (1) The estimated cost of his or her education
17    associated with pursuing a degree in that major or program
18    of study.
19        (2) The average monthly student loan payment over a
20    period of 20 years based on the estimated cost of his or
21    her education under paragraph (1).
22        (3) The average job placement rate within 12 months
23    after graduation for a graduate who holds a degree in that

1    major or program of study.
2        (4) The average entry-level wage or salary for an
3    occupation related to that major or program of study.
4        (5) The average wage or salary 5 years after entry
5    into an occupation under paragraph (4).
 
6    Section 10. The Southern Illinois University Management
7Act is amended by adding Section 100 as follows:
 
8    (110 ILCS 520/100 new)
9    Sec. 100. Academic major report. The Board shall provide
10to each enrolled student, at the time the student declares or
11changes his or her academic major or program of study, a report
12that contains relevant, independent, and accurate data related
13to the student's major or program of study and to the current
14occupational outlook associated with that major or program of
15study. The report shall provide the student with all of the
16following information:
17        (1) The estimated cost of his or her education
18    associated with pursuing a degree in that major or program
19    of study.
20        (2) The average monthly student loan payment over a
21    period of 20 years based on the estimated cost of his or
22    her education under paragraph (1).
23        (3) The average job placement rate within 12 months
24    after graduation for a graduate who holds a degree in that

1    major or program of study.

6    Section 15. The Chicago State University Law is amended by
7adding Section 5-210 as follows:
 
8    (110 ILCS 660/5-210 new)
9    Sec. 5-210. Academic major report. The Board shall provide
10to each enrolled student, at the time the student declares or
11changes his or her academic major or program of study, a report
12that contains relevant, independent, and accurate data related
13to the student's major or program of study and to the current
14occupational outlook associated with that major or program of
15study. The report shall provide the student with all of the

6    Section 20. The Eastern Illinois University Law is amended
7by adding Section 10-210 as follows:
 
8    (110 ILCS 665/10-210 new)
9    Sec. 10-210. Academic major report. The Board shall
10provide to each enrolled student, at the time the student
11declares or changes his or her academic major or program of
12study, a report that contains relevant, independent, and
13accurate data related to the student's major or program of
14study and to the current occupational outlook associated with
15that major or program of study. The report shall provide the
16student with all of the following information:
17        (1) The estimated cost of his or her education
18    associated with pursuing a degree in that major or program
19    of study.
20        (2) The average monthly student loan payment over a
21    period of 20 years based on the estimated cost of his or
22    her education under paragraph (1).

6    Section 25. The Governors State University Law is amended
7by adding Section 15-210 as follows:
 
8    (110 ILCS 670/15-210 new)
9    Sec. 15-210. Academic major report. The Board shall
10provide to each enrolled student, at the time the student
11declares or changes his or her academic major or program of
12study, a report that contains relevant, independent, and
13accurate data related to the student's major or program of
14study and to the current occupational outlook associated with
15that major or program of study. The report shall provide the
16student with all of the following information:
17        (1) The estimated cost of his or her education
18    associated with pursuing a degree in that major or program
19    of study.
20        (2) The average monthly student loan payment over a
21    period of 20 years based on the estimated cost of his or

9    Sec. 20-215. Academic major report. The Board shall
10provide to each enrolled student, at the time the student
11declares or changes his or her academic major or program of
12study, a report that contains relevant, independent, and
13accurate data related to the student's major or program of
14study and to the current occupational outlook associated with
15that major or program of study. The report shall provide the
16student with all of the following information:
17        (1) The estimated cost of his or her education
18    associated with pursuing a degree in that major or program
19    of study.
20        (2) The average monthly student loan payment over a
21    period of 20 years based on the estimated cost of his or
22    her education under paragraph (1).

9    Sec. 25-210. Academic major report. The Board shall
10provide to each enrolled student, at the time the student
11declares or changes his or her academic major or program of
12study, a report that contains relevant, independent, and
13accurate data related to the student's major or program of
14study and to the current occupational outlook associated with
15that major or program of study. The report shall provide the
16student with all of the following information:
17        (1) The estimated cost of his or her education
18    associated with pursuing a degree in that major or program
19    of study.
20        (2) The average monthly student loan payment over a
21    period of 20 years based on the estimated cost of his or
22    her education under paragraph (1).

6    Section 40. The Northern Illinois University Law is

9    Sec. 30-220. Academic major report. The Board shall
10provide to each enrolled student, at the time the student
11declares or changes his or her academic major or program of
12study, a report that contains relevant, independent, and
13accurate data related to the student's major or program of
14study and to the current occupational outlook associated with
15that major or program of study. The report shall provide the
16student with all of the following information:
17        (1) The estimated cost of his or her education
18    associated with pursuing a degree in that major or program
19    of study.
20        (2) The average monthly student loan payment over a
21    period of 20 years based on the estimated cost of his or
22    her education under paragraph (1).
23        (3) The average job placement rate within 12 months

9    Sec. 35-215. Academic major report. The Board shall
10provide to each enrolled student, at the time the student
11declares or changes his or her academic major or program of
12study, a report that contains relevant, independent, and
13accurate data related to the student's major or program of
14study and to the current occupational outlook associated with
15that major or program of study. The report shall provide the
16student with all of the following information:
17        (1) The estimated cost of his or her education
18    associated with pursuing a degree in that major or program
19    of study.
20        (2) The average monthly student loan payment over a
