SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

20 ILCS 505/5.21 new

Amends the Children and Family Services Act. Requires the Department of Children and Family Services and the Department of Human Services to jointly develop and administer a program that provides free and accessible child care services to parenting youth in foster care. Grants the Departments rulemaking authority.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Children and Family Services Act is amended by adding Section 5.21 as follows:

(20 ILCS 505/5.21 new)

Sec. 5.21. Child care services for parenting youth in foster care. The Department of Children and Family Services and the Department of Human Services shall jointly develop and administer a program that provides free and accessible child care services to parenting youth in foster care. The Departments may adopt any rules necessary to implement the program.
