SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Thomas Joseph Barschak of O'Fallon, who
4passed away on January 15, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Thomas Barschak was born on January 30, 1928 in
6St. Louis, Missouri; his parents were Thomas Emil and Marie C.
7(nee Polk) Barschak; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Thomas Barschak proudly served his country in the
9United States Army during the Korean War; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Thomas Barschak was a purchaser at Southern
11Illinois University in Edwardsville; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Thomas Barschak was a member of Masonic East Lodge
13504; the Scottish Rite Bodies, where he was a past Sovereign
14Prince, a past member of the board of directors, MSA, and 33rd
15Degree; the Ainad Shrine Temple, where he was a past member of
16the executive committee and past Potentate; the Demolay Legion
17of Honor, Egyptian Preceptory; the Royal Order of Jesters Court
1886; a member of the Belleville, Silver Lake, Collinsville, and
19Tri-City Shrine Clubs; and a past member of the Edwardsville
20Planning Commission; he also served at Anderson Hospital in
21Maryville as a trustee, assistant treasurer, and member of the

1executive committee, building committee, and special insurance
2committee; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Thomas Barschak was preceded in death by his
4parents; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Thomas Barschak is survived by his daughter, Bunny
6(Mark) VonBokel; his son, Dale (Kris) Barschak; his
7grandchildren, Logan VonBokel, Bret Barschak, and Laine
8Barschak; and his close friend, Shirley Walters; therefore, be
9it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
12family and friends, mourn the passing of Thomas Joseph
13Barschak; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Thomas Barschak as an expression of
16our sympathy.
