SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

725 ILCS 5/115-10.6 rep.
725 ILCS 5/115-10.7 rep.
    Amends the Code of Criminal Procedure of 1963. Repeals evidentiary provisions providing a hearsay exception for intentional murder of a witness and admissibility of prior statements of an unavailable witness whose absence was wrongfully procured. Effective immediately.

1     AN ACT concerning criminal law.

2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:

4     (725 ILCS 5/115-10.6 rep.)
5     (725 ILCS 5/115-10.7 rep.)
6     Section 5. The Code of Criminal Procedure of 1963 is
7 amended by repealing Sections 115-10.6 and 115-10.7.

8     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
9 becoming law.
