AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1778

AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 1778 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the following:

"Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section 2-3.163 as follows:

(105 ILCS 5/2-3.163 new)

Sec. 2-3.163. School bus safety decal program. The State Board of Education shall establish a school bus safety decal program in consultation with the Department of State Police, the Department of Transportation, and a school transportation association. Under the program, the State Board shall have "no trespassing" decals produced that may be placed on school buses. The decals shall state the relevant law concerning criminal trespass to vehicles and its prosecution and punishment and shall be made available to those school districts that request them. The State Board of Education may adopt any rules necessary to implement this Section.".
