AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1217

AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1217 on page 11, by replacing lines 1 through 6 with the following:

"(225 ILCS 25/54.3 new)

Sec. 54.3. Vaccinations; immunizations. Notwithstanding Section 54.2 of this Act, a dentist may administer vaccinations as a public health service upon completion of appropriate training on how to address contraindications and adverse reactions. Vaccinations shall be limited to patients 10 years of age and older pursuant to a valid prescription or standing order by a physician. In addition, vaccinations shall be limited to influenza (inactivated influenza vaccine and live attenuated influenza intranasal vaccine), Tdap (defined as tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis), and shingles vaccines with notification to the patient's physician and appropriate record retention.".
