| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 |
| learn of the death of Manning Lynn Kessinger of Carlinville, | 4 |
| who passed away on January 24, 2010; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, He was born November 12, 1922 in Carlinville to | 6 |
| the late Manning D. Kessinger and the late Ethel V.( Wheeler) | 7 |
| Kessinger; he married Virginia E. Kessinger in Jerseyville on | 8 |
| June 22, 1944; and
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, He was a second lieutenant in the United States | 10 |
| Army during World War II and was a P.O.W.; and
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, He farmed in the Carlinville Area for many years, | 12 |
| retiring in 2000; and
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia; | 14 |
| and
| 15 |
| WHEREAS,
Manning Kessinger is survived by his son, James L. | 16 |
| Kessinger (Janet); his son, David L. Kessinger; his daughter, | 17 |
| Lynda S. Power; his son, Brian L. Kessinger (Colleen); his son, | 18 |
| Marty L. Kessinger (Pam); his 7 grandchildren and 4 | 19 |
| great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Lucille Kessinger; his | 20 |
| sister-in-law, Mavis Hunt; and his many nieces and nephews; |

| therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL | 3 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 4 |
| his family and friends, the death of Manning Kessinger; and be | 5 |
| it further
| 6 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 7 |
| presented to the family of Manning Kessinger as a symbol of our | 8 |
| sincere sympathy.
