AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 3657

AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 3657 on page 1, line 12, by replacing "(i) $1,000" with "$1,500"; and

on page 1, by replacing lines 13 through 15 with "year."; and

on page 1, by replacing lines 17 and 18 with the following:

"(1) the eligible employee must be hired during the taxable year and on or after the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 96th General Assembly"; and

on page 1, line 23, by deleting "and"; and

on page 2, line 4, by replacing "business." with "business; and"; and

on page 2, immediately below line 4, by inserting the following:

"(5) the eligible employee may not be a child, grandchild, parent, or spouse, other than a spouse who is legally separated from the individual, of the small business owner or of an individual who has a direct or an indirect ownership interest of at least 5% in the small business."; and

on page 2, line 7, after "week", by inserting "who was not previously employed by the taxpayer in the calendar year in which the credit is received"; and

on page 2, line 11, by replacing "that" with "than".
