SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
815 ILCS 505/2III new

    Amends the Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act. Provides that it is an unlawful practice for a tower to misrepresent an affiliation with the State, a unit of local government, an insurance company, a private club, or any other entity for the purpose of securing a business transaction with a vehicle owner or operator.

1     AN ACT concerning business.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business
5 Practices Act is amended by adding Section 2III as follows:
 
6     (815 ILCS 505/2III new)
7     Sec. 2III. Towers; misrepresentation of affiliation.
8     (a) As used in this Section, "tower" has the meaning
9 ascribed to it in Section 1-205.2 of the Illinois Vehicle Code.
10     (b) It shall be unlawful for any tower to misrepresent an
11 affiliation with the State, a unit of local government, an
12 insurance company, a private club, or any other entity for the
13 purpose of securing a business transaction with a vehicle owner
14 or operator.
