SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
720 ILCS 5/12-10.3 new

    Amends the Criminal Code of 1961. Creates the offense of false representation to a tattoo or body piercing business as the parent or legal guardian of a minor. Provides that a violation is a Class C misdemeanor.

1     AN ACT concerning criminal law.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Criminal Code of 1961 is amended by adding
5 Section 12-10.3 as follows:
 
6     (720 ILCS 5/12-10.3 new)
7     Sec. 12-10.3. False representation to a tattoo or body
8 piercing business as the parent or legal guardian of a minor.
9     (a) A person, other than the parent or legal guardian of a
10 minor, commits the offense of false representation to a tattoo
11 or body piercing business as the parent or legal guardian of a
12 minor when he or she falsely represents himself or herself as
13 the parent or legal guardian of the minor to an owner or
14 employee of a tattoo or body piercing business for the purpose
15 of:
16         (1) accompanying the minor to a business that provides
17     tattooing as required under Section 12-10 of this Code
18     (tattooing body of minor); or
19         (2) furnishing the written consent required under
20     Section 12-10.1 of this Code (piercing the body of a
21     minor).
22     (b) Sentence. False representation to a tattoo or body
23 piercing business as the parent or legal guardian of a minor is
