SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
225 ILCS 50/6.1 new

    Amends the Hearing Instrument Consumer Protection Act. Provides that the Department shall grant reciprocity to a hearing instrument dispenser who has a valid license, or its equivalent, from another state which has an examination that is comparable to the examination required under the Act and who has been actively practicing as a hearing instrument dispenser for at least 3 months or is certified by the National Board for Certification in Hearing Instrument Sciences.

1     AN ACT concerning regulation.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Hearing Instrument Consumer Protection Act
5 is amended by adding Section 6.1 as follows:
 
6     (225 ILCS 50/6.1 new)
7     (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2016)
8     Sec. 6.1. Reciprocity. The Department shall issue a license
9 to any hearing instrument dispenser who has a valid license as
10 a hearing instrument dispenser, or its equivalent, from another
11 state that has a licensing examination that is comparable to
12 the licensing examination required under this Act and who has
13 been actively practicing as a hearing instrument dispenser for
14 at least 3 months or is certified by the National Board for
15 Certification in Hearing Instrument Sciences.
