SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

Amends the City Colleges of Chicago Article of the Public Community College Act. Repeals provisions concerning a financial report the chief administrative officer must submit to the board of trustees. Effective immediately.

AN ACT concerning education.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Public Community College Act is amended by changing Section 7-17 as follows:

(110 ILCS 805/7-17) (from Ch. 122, par. 107-17)

Sec. 7-17. Any member or officer of the board, any officer of the city or any other person holding any trust or employment under the board or city who wilfully violates any of the provisions of Sections 7-8 7-6 through 7-16 shall be guilty of a business offense and may be fined not exceeding $10,000 and forfeits his right to and shall be removed from his office, trust or employment. Any such member, officer or person is liable for the amount of any loss or damage suffered by the board resulting from his violation of any of those Sections, to be recovered by the board or by any taxpayer in the name and for the benefit of the board, in a civil action. Any taxpayer bringing an action under this Section must file a bond for all costs, and is liable for all costs taxed against the board in that suit. This Section does not bar any other remedy.

Section 10. The Public Community College Act is amended by repealing Sections 7-6 and 7-7.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
