1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1446
2 AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1446 on page 1,
3 lines 17 and 18, by replacing "The State Board may decide to
4 disburse no" with "No"; and

5 on page 1, line 19, after "year", by inserting "shall be
6 disbursed"; and

7 on page 2, immediately below line 1, by inserting the
8 following:
9 "(c) Funds for the We Want to Learn English Initiative may
10 only be used to provide English programs for United States
11 citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other persons
12 residing in this State who are in lawful immigration status.".
