SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

5 ILCS 460/57 new

Amends the State Designations Act. Designates the GoldRush Apple as the official State fruit of Illinois. Effective immediately.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning government.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The State Designations Act is amended by adding Section 57 as follows:

(5 ILCS 460/57 new)

Sec. 57. State fruit. The fruit Malus xdomestica, commonly known as the "GoldRush Apple", is designated the official State fruit of the State of Illinois.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
