HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate George "Georgie Porgie" Andros on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of his independent music label, Music Plant Group; and

WHEREAS, Music Plant Group was launched in March of 1993 as a management company with its own label, production, and distribution arms; after 14 years of hard work, the company, based out of Chicago, is the longest standing dance label in the United States; the company also boasts a Latin division along with an emerging R&B division; and

WHEREAS, Music Plant Group has released worldwide hits such as "Love is Gonna Save The Day", "Life Goes On", "Sunshine", and "I Believe" by Georgie Porgie; "Lost Yo Mind" by Pepper Mashay; "I Still Believe" by Rachel Panay; "Free Your Mind" by Ohsha Kai; "My Number One" by Helena Paparizou; "Aguas Puras" by Papo Sanchez; "Harvest for The World" by Terry Hunter; "Teenage Wasteland" by Teri Bristol; and "Going Round" by D'Bora; the discography of the label's writers includes major artists such as Michael Jackson, Madonna, Dina Carrol, Mary J. Blige, Kym Sims, Crystal Waters, Zhane, Elvis Crespo, Enrique Iglesias, and India; and

WHEREAS, Music Plant Group has distinguished itself in the music industry through its commitment to quality music production, distribution, and dissemination, a task that the staff of Music Plant Group has pursued with great success; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate George "Georgie Porgie" Andros on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of his independent music label, Music Plant Group, and wish him continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to George "Georgie Porgie" Andros as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
