SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

60 ILCS 1/80-30.5 new

Amends the Township Code. Provides that any township may enter into a long-term energy contract, even if the length of the contract exceeds the term of office of the corporate authorities that approved the contract.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Township Code is amended by adding Section 80-30.5 as follows:

(60 ILCS 1/80-30.5 new)

Sec. 80-30.5. Long-term contracts. Any township may enter into a long-term energy contract, even if the length of the contract exceeds the term of office of the corporate authorities that approved the contract.
