SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to express their sincere condolences to the family and friends of Edgar Newton Davison of Godfrey, who passed away on April 3, 2006; and

WHEREAS, Edgar Davison was born on October 22, 1927 to Jack and Lillian (Schaefer) Davison; he married the former Peggy Reed on September 24, 1976, in Alton; and

WHEREAS, Edgar Davison served his country in the United States Navy as a corpsman during World War II; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Davison practiced dentistry in Rosewood Heights for 47 years and founded a free dental clinic for needy children in Wood River; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Davison was also active in his community; he was a past board member and president of Temple Israel in Godfrey, a founding member of the Wood River Kiwanis club, and a member of the Wood River Rotary, the Great River Choral Society, New Horizon Band, and Lockhaven Country Club; and he coached soccer and played on a soccer team until he was 51; and

WHEREAS, In his free time, he loved golf and playing poker; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Davison was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Dorothy Harris, and his brother, David Davison; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Edgar Newton Davison will be felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife, Peggy Davison; his daughter and son-in-law, Jodi and Dennis Madole; his sons and daughters-in-law, Norton and Norma Davison and Jonathan and Brooke Davison; his stepsons, Reed Wickenhauser and Todd Wickenhauser and his wife, Shonda; his grandchildren, Libby, Jacob, Lauren, Morgan, Andrew, Logan, Mia, Rachel and Nicholas; his great-grandchildren, Alana and Joseph; and his many beloved nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with all who knew and loved him, the death of Edgar Newton Davison; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Edgar Newton Davison with our sincere condolences.
