AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2887

2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2887 by replacing
3 everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4     "Section 5. The Children's Health Insurance Program Act is
5 amended by changing Section 10 as follows:
 
6     (215 ILCS 106/10)
7     Sec. 10. Definitions. As used in this Act:
8     "Benchmarking" means health benefits coverage as defined
9 in Section 2103 of the Social Security Act.
10     "Child" means a person under the age of 19.
11     "Department" means the Department of Public Aid.
12     "Medical assistance" means health care benefits provided
13 under Article V of the Illinois Public Aid Code.
14     "Medical visit" means a hospital, dental, physician,
15 optical, or other health care visit where services are provided
16 pursuant to this Act.
17     "Program" means the Children's Health Insurance Program,
18 which includes subsidizing the cost of privately sponsored
19 health insurance and purchasing or providing health care
20 benefits for eligible children.
21     "Resident" means:
22         (1) A a person who meets the residency requirements as
23     defined in Section 5-3 of the Illinois Public Aid Code.
24         (2) A child living in a residential facility in

1     Illinois, even if the child's parents or legal guardians
2     are not residents of Illinois. However, if a waiver of
3     federal law or regulation is necessary for the child to be
4     eligible for the Program under Section 20 of this Act, then
5     the child shall be considered a resident only after the
6     Department applies for and is granted a waiver.
