SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Orville Wayne Childers of Waukegan, who passed away on August 18, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Wayne Childers was a veteran of the United States Army, where he served for 25 years; he then worked as a communication management specialist with the civil service for 15 years; and

WHEREAS, Wayne Childers was a 33rd degree Mason, a Blue Lodge Master Shriner, a member of the VFW and The Military Order of the Cooties of Waukegan, the Waukegan Little Fort Lions, the Lake County Crime Stoppers; he volunteered for Vista Health Hospital and was an acting Lay Leader of First United Methodist Church of Waukegan and Wainae Methodist Church of Oahu, Hawaii; and

WHEREAS, Wayne Childers, along with his wife, Norma, traveled the country and abroad; and

WHEREAS, Wayne Childers was preceded in death by his parents, Verline and Kewin Childers; and his daughter, Karen Childers; and

WHEREAS, Wayne Childers is survived by his wife of 25 years, Norma Jensen; his children, Steven Childers, Klause Hackman, Jodi Anderson, and Richard W. (Amy) Jensen; his grandchildren, Jennifer Demo, Sarah Anderson, and the Hackman grandchildren of Arizona; his great-grandchildren, Kai Demo, and Lily and Olivia Vandervere; his sister; and his three brothers; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Orville Wayne Childers and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Wayne Childers as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
