SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Eve Cordrey of McHenry, who passed away on December 12, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Eve Cordrey was born on January 20, 1932 in Holton, Michigan; her parents were Murel Vere and Mildred Ann (nee Bunce) Church; she married Jerry R. Cordrey on August 21, 1954 in Angola, Indiana; and

WHEREAS, Eve Cordrey was a resident of McHenry since 1970; she attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan; and

WHEREAS, Eve Cordrey taught second grade in western Michigan before marrying and starting a family; and

WHEREAS, Eve Cordrey was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in McHenry; and

WHEREAS, Eve Cordrey enjoyed boating on the river and spending time with her family and friends; and

WHEREAS, Eve Cordrey was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; her son, Eric Howard Cordrey; 2 brothers, Norm and Bill; 2 sisters, Bernice and Phyllis; and her parents; and

WHEREAS, Eve Cordrey is survived by 3 children, Timothy (Judy) Cordrey, Denise Koch, and Carole (Rodney) Ackerman; 7 grandchildren, Rachel, Jeremy (Leanna), and Katie Cordrey, Bridget (Adam) Nelson, Callie (Ryan) Tessema, Nathan Koch, and Lucas Ackerman; 9 great-grandchildren, Josie, Sophie, Grey, Cole, Alyssa, Tyson, Jennifer, Christina, and Elliot; and a brother, John Church; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Eve Cordrey; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Eve Cordrey as an expression of our sympathy.
